Financing, product development and sales are the main challenges of a start-up company. This is the suymmary of experiences from the first Maccelerator cycle.
Maccelerator has operated in Tampere Mediapolis since last spring and the first accelerator period ends this Christmas. Fourteen companies ranging from 360-video makers to animators and game developers have participated in the seven-month-long program.
The accelerator companies have developed new on-screen graphics together with Yleisradio, a game demo on the Sami mythology, a social news platform, a new location based audio reaality and a social marketing innovation.
– Maccelerator has provided the start-ups a wide offering of theory and practise, says Chief Accelerator Timoteus Tuovinen.
– Company specific coaching has been also instrumental. Start-up is a a lonely wolf who benefits from the rest of the pack, but company’s need form the base of the acceleration, Tuovinen continues.
The first Maccelerator period, operated by Digital Media Finland, ends in Christmas. Macclelarator 2.0 starts in April 2018 and will again offer an updated serving of start-up essentials, such as coaching on financing, strategy, sales, IPR and much more.
The applications for Maccelerator 2018 open 15.1.2018 at www.maccelerator.fi. The applications close 16.2. The Maccelerator starts 16.4.2018.
